Intensity of motivation
The interest in fulfilling multiple objectives, values, motives is more or less fulfilled by the depth of the feelings that are evoked.
People should learn to make good and right decisions for themselves.
It is better to marry the right partner or choose the right job straight away, rather than to talk to a consultant that teaches you how to get along with someone else, or advises you, which job is best for you.
And also here: Is the advice that you have experienced so far really suitable/useful for you in the long run?
We assume that our values are also best for everyone else! What is the reason for this?
- Emotional self-hug
- Blind spots
- Intolerance
- Strong individuality stands for abnormality (Who sets the standard?)
People turn to people with similar values!
- They separate themselves from those with opposite values
People pay attention to and make use of incentives that are relevant to their needs!
- Combative people look for provocations and insults
- Socially-oriented people seek out opportunities where they can support and help other people
- "Status" people pay attention to clothes and possessions, and moreover: that they are talked about positively, etc.
- "Family" people want to spend as much as possible with their children, or rather strive for a high level of care
Positive and negative emotions signal temporary satisfaction!
- The 16 basic desires present the motivational objective which people want
- Emotions signal the extent to which people have accomplished different goals
- The greater the IS to SHOULD BE variations are in life, people all the more are not happy, perform less well, get ill etc.
Examples:
- What percentage of the time you spent awake do you spend thinking?
- What percentage of the time you spent awake do you want to be liked by other people, or receive positive feedback?
- What percentage of the time you spent awake do you want to get to know new people?
- What percentage of the time you spent awake do you seek emotional attachment to other people (talk about your problems and emotions with other people, etc.)
